Fourth Annual National Road Vintage Weekend

June 3, 4 and 5, 2005

Known affectionately as the NRR weekend, the fourth annual National Road Vintage Weekend will feature our traditional events, plus some new twists designed add to fun of celebrating Cumberland’s rich sports car racing history.
	We are pleased to announce that two notable Porsches from American sports car racing in the 1970s are scheduled to appear. Steve Limbert has graciously agreed to display his Bruce Jennings long wheel base 911 (one of two such cars prepared for distance racing) and his famous Max Moritz built IMSA 914-6. Once called Europe’s fastest GT, this car raced at Daytona and Sebring.

In all it will be a busy weekend for entrants and spectators alike!

Corvette/Porsche Shoot and Corral

The Steel Town Corvette Club and the Chesapeake Region PCA will square off again in the Porsche/Corvette Shoot Out early Friday evening in a match race autocross at the Cumberland Regional Airport. Special Corvette and Porsche Corrals have been arranged at the airport and in Downtown Cumberland forthe “bragging rights” party at Kelly’s Pub.

Triathlon, Vintage Show, Autocross and Charity Dinner

Three events take center stage on Saturday. In the morning, autocrossing begins at the airport, a vintage sports car show launches at noon in downtown Cumberland. The annual charity dinner and auction are scheduled for the Downtown Cumberland Holiday Inn. New for 2005, entrants can opt for a a combined autocross, concours, rally category and compete for the first event National Road Vintage Triathlon Championship.

National Road Rally, Autocross, Triathlon Winner Determined

While autocrossing continues into Day Two, the fourth annual National Road Rally, an SCCA sanctioned DC Region event, will take off on the 108 miles “Corsa Di Minerale”, a TSD Monte Carlo format road tour of nearby Mineral County, West Virginia’s most interesting roads.
