ROCKY GAP RESORT – Sixteen teams enjoyed a brisk drive in the country catching the peak of fall foliage season in the Maryland Mountains as part of National Road Autosport’s second annual fall foliage fun rally.

Rally veterans Mike Ekliskis and Chris Bean cruised through the 75 mile Doug Macy designed course with a score of 120 points, taking the Overall and Expert Class win. Two time National Road Rally winner Greg Nagy and wife/navigator Beth made it an MGB-GT sweep of the top two spots with a score of 133 points.

Third place overall went to the Novice Class winning duo of Jim Hild and Cindy Miller, who guided their Audi TT to a score of 527 points. Bob and Joanie Purgason won the General Class in a BMW 325i by a scant three points over Loraine and Fred Dentel in their Mercedes coupe.

Entrants and volunteers enjoyed a tasty Sunday Brunch Buffet at the Rocky Gap Resort before departing for the day’s competition, which included a variety of county and state roads between the Mason Dixon Line and the Potomac River in the eastern reaches of Allegany County, Maryland. The event was sanctioned by the Washington DC Region, Sports Car Club of America.
